The question of a Grandmother's role and a Doula's often arises.

I cannot say enough how much of a joy it was to work with Emily! I was able to be in the room as my daughter gave birth to my granddaughter. It was so incredible and amazing! My daughter had had 2 previous c- sections but was determined to have a vaginal birth. I had never really heard about what a doula does so I didn't know what to expect. I was amazed and in awe to watch how Emily worked with my daughter. She was so encouraging and so affirming to my daughter. She was gentle and kind. She handled the doctors and nurses beautifully during the whole process. I am so grateful that Emily was there for my daughter and for me! I cannot recommend her highly enough! - Shelley Johnson

As a Mom, I can't thank Emily enough for helping my daughter through the birth of our granddaughter. Watching your own child in discomfort is difficult yet Emily was a constant source of support and encouragement for our entire family. We felt totally involved, never in the way and comforted by her presence. While still at home, she took such good care of our daughter. Always suggesting different ways to make her as comfortable as possible. At The Birth Center, she made sure that I was as ease with the process while supporting my daughter and son-in-law up to and after the birth. It just wouldn't have been the same without her! |
